I stopped trying to swim under people when I was about 17, See the other thread about injuries where I mentioned the network of scars under my chin.

I understand your point, but do not think that it is attributable to my playing style. I am the type of player who does as little as possible until the back gives me the puck on a plate and I can swim unopposed to the goal.

Frankly I often don't know how they get broken, but at least one came because a deliberate elbow to the face to stop me swimming past. Broke two I think playing in French competition. That has more to do with the style of play in France and certain players in particular than my playing style I think.
Had one broken at Worlds in Sheffield by Canada. I think they were getting annoyed in the quarter final. Was not the only person from our team in that game to get his mask broken.

Basically the frames are flimsy, and a knock that another type of mask would shrug off breaks it. Before the Falco I think I only ever broke one mask (in 20 odd years). It is however comfortable and I like it, so it is a trade off I am willing to make.

I tried the Sphera, but didn't really like the distortion of the lenses to your vision. At the time we were also told they would probably be banned in the French competition since there had been some injuries to people wearing them. The Falco also has very good peripheral vision (you only need to be able to see shadows) - mainly because of the thin frames.
