I do not question or challenge what Liam does for underwater hockey in NZ and I apologise if you or he believe I have. When asking what he had done for the cause I was referring to the political issues. I asked generic questions for everybody to consider, this is an open forum and I realised that I was not speaking to Liam alone.

Belle, I will accept the slap on the wrist from you and Liam, there are heaps of positive entries on this forum. I went back and read over the site and there have been plenty of good discussions. I do not accept that I am the most negative person on the forum however; I concede that frustration has displayed itself in a negative form. That was not my intention.

I or we entered this forum after a ‘dinner party’ type discussion over Ducks inflammatory post which we had noted not one person on the forum had questioned or challenged, coupled with we had been reading in GB…I guess we were hearing alarm bells. In this sense I am not one person on the forum but the collected views of a few!

Encouraged by heated discussion on the topic and a bottle of red we decided to post.
I guess the focus of our discussion centred around the fact that we have not even consolidated our position as a new sporting body and already people are talking about turfing the committee out of their positions…and with who?? We have all been on committees with those people…you know the ones, they are going to revolutionise everything, their intentions are great but they run out of puff & commitment and it all gets to hard and they walk away. Having done the hard yards and having proven their commitment to the cause we just felt that current committee have at the very least earned the right to get this up and happening without the constant bitc..g of everybody else – hence the name.

We agree that the new committee should be democratic…but we were wondering why people (at least initially) couldn’t be invited in? Maybe each participating nation should have a representative?

We were surprised and amused by the responding posts and so we continued enjoying the game. It has been an interesting exercise to watch peoples reactions…especially when they have felt their own positions questioned or threatened!

Anyway the weekend is over, the bottle is finished and we have all gone home. Life beckoned (told you I had one!).
