I havent played 2.5 or anything similar. 3m I think is just a bit too deep, yes it opens up the game but it slows it down a bit and its that step too far so you have to get used to it.

I personally think the pool i play at which is 2.25m is the best depth. As southernpuck said, fins are out of the way, speed and space are good.
