| Name Change I was thinking I may as well get the ball rolling on the whole "name-change" debate...
To be honest, the over-whelming majority of people who I have spoken to have had the opinion that "aquachallenge" doesn't encapsulate the true spirit and nature of the game - basically it doesn't sound good.
I know its difficult to find a new name, and the one that has been chosen has its merits - but I think people are concerned that it is so far removed from the sport that we have played and loved for years.
Aquachallenge: aqua - obviously water, challenge - I assume referring to the fact that its bloody hard to play whilst holding your breath.
I suppose my problem is that no-where does it refer to "sub-aqua/underwater, no-where does it refer to it being a team sport, and nowhere does it refer to it being a sport where you wield an instrument and interact with an independent "object".
Everyone will agree how difficult it is explaining to someone how underwater hockey works - but at least the name conjures up some kind of visual reference... what does aquachallenge do?
What about Ultimate Hockey.... Aqua Hockey...
Some people even think a double syllable name is the key - think soccer, football, hockey, swimming... all double syllables!
Oh, what's in a name? That which we call a game by any other word would make us just as wet.
