| agree about bulky gloves....
the aussie club gloves are the most disgusting banana-fingers abominations ever. they last for a long time but they are absolutely horrible in terms of using skills. the slightly smaller comp gloves are only slightly less crap.
when you have the option of getting slovenian gloves you'd have to be a maniac to buy from tru-blue. i don't mean to dent their rep, but hey there are much better gloves available and i think tru-blue have to wake up and develop a new design.
for example, i spent a couple of hours with an extremely high-level player recently and we were specifically working on one particular skill... one thats not easy to master initially. she had a big aussie banana glove and an aussie slickflicker. i had a glove custom made for me, bit old but still ok, flexible and reasonably low-volume, and one of my sticks, really basic but with a slight curved front edge. as we got further into it, we swapped gear a couple of times and by the end, she could do the skill without trouble most of the time wearing my gear, but not at all with the aussie gear.
the banana gloves are just too bulky to allow different faces of the stick to be used to control the puck without the glove lifting the stick too far off the bottom... they also restrict hand movement hugely. thankfully tru-blu also sell make-your-own latex kits, or they used to.... get one of those and make the glove yourself rather than buy bananas. it only takes an afternoon but you will benefit for the life of the glove.
worth it!
