Every dictatorship can be overthrown by using the right technique and power of the people. You have tried several ways, but haven't found the right way yet. There are a lot of specialised people on this forum. We have lawyers, communication specialists, marketeers, ICT specialists etc. When all these people put their brains together, something strong has to come out of it.

were the CMAS Games a successful uw hockey event?
Seen the circumstances it wasn't that bad. Main reason why it wasn't a succes was the lack of teams and poor organization. Now that CMAS knows how difficult is was, I think they'll be more open for advice next time. Especially when everybody aligns on what to say.

will it always be in Europe?
We must see to it that this doesn't happen. Furthermore, from what I seem to have understood during the last conversation we had with Ferrero, he actualy is in favour of organizing it around the world.

will it be limited to 8 elite mens and womens teams only? qualify by region?
This would not be a good option, and we have to press it into the CMAS boards thick skull that we aren't professional football players. As I said to Ferrero, if I sacrifice my holidays and money to go to a tournament on the other end of the world, I want to play as much as possible. We are not paid 13 million euros a year, so we want to get value for our money.

I believe we had a successful system with increasing participation, and CMAS shut it down.
I agree totally that you had a succesful system, and am sure we can still convince CMAS that a mixture is possible. Their main concern was the duration of Sheffield, and especially after the Italians started wining that it took too long. Well, next time lets not have the juniors, masters and elite running at the same time. It would have been possible to play the elite in one week and juniors and masters during the second.
As for the division, we just have to make sure enough teams attend and we'll be fine. A bigger challenge for us uwh representatives to make the sport grow in our country.

As I said (again and again), situation varies with each country. My US government does not deal with sport in any aspect excepting concern, recently, with substance abuse in prof sport. And being a member of USOC is nice to put on stationery.

Yes, every country is different, so why take the wind out of the sails of countries that do need the recognition. And let's face it, when searching for potential sponsors, having the USOC on your stationery can only contribute to proving this is a serious sport. The same goes for getting media coverage.
