But very true in any match. Forwards should be unguided torpedoes: put them in the right direction and press 'fire'.
However, I usually teach the newbies to turn when in doubt of loosing the puck. It maybe the wrong thing to do in matches (especially as a forward) but on the other hand it teaches them to look around for their teammates. Too often they seem to make a habit of ignoring these other persons who also have a stick in their color. But that is a different topic.
