My brother and I got the Mares Avanti Excel and they proved no good for him. They were okay for me for a year or so until both mine and his broke in the same place at the same time (we replaced them and mine have broken again).

Instead of the normal full rubber foot pocket, these ones have plastic and rubber on the foot pocket. So when you kick your foot is pushing up against the plastic and the seal with the rubber doesn't last from all the pressure.

So overall, probably not a great hockey fin.
