| Benson, that is a great drill. I've been really trying to do this for a couple years now... still in a bit of an infantile stage, i've been lacking moving the puck where I want it every time.
The thing I see is this should really be a fundamental of the sport. The "traditional" way of recieving a pass and controlling if done in any other similar type of sport goes out the window at around age 8 or earlier. In soccer or waterpolo or ice hockey and especially basketball you are taught at the very first stage of learning to move to the pass to recieve it, make the ball/puck yours first. If you wait for the pass to come to you, basically you've lost some if not all of the advantage of possession. |
